Burke receives Appreciation Award

Sheila Burke, associate director of Student Health Services at Quinnipiac, holds the Appreciation Award she received from the Connecticut College Health Association of Nurse Directors.

May 30, 2014 - The Connecticut College Health Association of Nurse Directors presented its Appreciation Award to Sheila Burke, associate director of Student Health Services at Quinnipiac.

"It is an honor to be recognized by my colleagues," Burke said. "I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the members of the Connecticut College Health Association of Nurse Directors for this award."

Alice Holland, director of Student Health Services at Quinnipiac, said Burke's dedication, professionalism and leadership during her 20 years at Quinnipiac were among the attributes that led to her receiving the award.

"Sheila spends countless hours behind the scenes, ensuring Student Health Services at Quinnipiac operates smoothly while promoting a student-centered environment," Holland said. "She has been instrumental in implementing electronic medical records, establishing the foundation for the University's annual Health & Wellness Fair, coordinating numerous educational student events and planning successful flu vaccine clinics. Sheila is known and respected throughout the University community and college health circuit." 

Burke holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Niagara University.
