Community and education are the focus of student's service trip to Guatemala

Students volunteer in Guatemala during spring break community service trip
Students travel by bus to their volunteer site during an alternative spring break volunteer trip in Guatemala.

March 24, 2014 - Undergraduate and graduate students participated in an alternative spring break trip to Guatemala where they volunteered their time to build basketball courts for the local community. Alternative spring break, led by David Ives of the Albert Schweitzer Institute, provides students with the opportunity to engage in service-learning that builds on previous projects that the Institute has engaged in over the past decade.
