Computer information systems program reaccredited
Aug. 15, 2013 - The School of Business' bachelor of science in computer information systems program received reaccreditation from the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET, Inc.
Quinnipiac's program is one of only 37 information systems programs accredited in the United States. There are only two such programs accredited in New England and only one in Connecticut. Quinnipiac's program is also the only accredited CIS program in New England in an AACSB-accredited business school.
"This is a significant accomplishment," said Bruce Saulnier, professor and chair of computer information systems.
"ABET accreditation is an assurance of the educational value of our computer information systems program. It is assurance that our CIS program has met certain quality standards necessary to produce graduates who are ready to enter their professions. Students who graduate from accredited programs have access to enhanced opportunities in employment; licensure, registration and certification; graduate education and global mobility."
