Director of financial aid honored
May 21, 2013 - The Eastern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators presented its Leadership Award to Odette George Franceskino, of Prospect, director of financial aid at the School of Law, at its 47th annual conference in Boston, May 7-10.
"I was both delighted and humbled by this honor," said Franceskino, who also was elected treasurer of the EASFAA at the annual meeting. "It is my pleasure to work with such dedicated individuals who are committed to the financial aid profession and the students we serve."
The Leadership Award is presented to a financial aid professional who has demonstrated outstanding leadership to the association or to an association activity in the preceding year.
Franceskino, who has been active in EASFAA since 2004, has held several key positions, including EASFAA representative for Connecticut and chair of the association's committees on graduate and professional concerns and conference local arrangements. She served as co-chair of the association's annual conference during the 2010-2011 academic year. She also served as president of the Connecticut Association of Professional Financial Aid Administrators in 2009-2010.
Franceskino joined Quinnipiac in 1996 as an assistant director of undergraduate financial aid. She was promoted to director of financial aid in the School of Law in 2004. She holds a MBA from Quinnipiac and an undergraduate degree from Post University in Waterbury.
