April 22, 2013 - Anna Spragg has been appointed director of student affairs at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.
In her new position, Spragg will be responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of support services for medical students at the school, which will welcome its first students in August of 2013. Specifically, she will provide general advising for students, design and implement a wellness program and work with students on career exploration and the residency process.
The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, which has received preliminary accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and approval from the state Board of Education, will focus on primary care. The school has named St. Vincent's Medical Center of Bridgeport as its primary clinical partner. It also has affiliations with Midstate Medical Center of Meriden and Middlesex Hospital of Middletown.
"It is an honor and privilege to be a part of the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine," Spragg said. "Working towards such an important mission with such brilliant, collaborative, motivated and genuinely nice colleagues, is a dream come true. I am excited to learn the many facets of medical education and to have Sam Parrish, associate dean for student affairs, as my mentor."
Spragg has an associate's degree in computer science, a bachelor's degree in business studies and a master's degree in organizational leadership, all from Quinnipiac. Spragg, who has worked at Quinnipiac since 1987, previously served as the associate vice president of human resources.
