Festa appointed assistant controller
Jan. 13, 2014 - Christine Festa has been appointed assistant controller.
In her new role, Festa will manage the University's external funding, including public and private grants, endowments and gifts, for recording and reporting purposes. She will serve as the liaison between Quinnipiac's controller's office and the development office.
Before coming to Quinnipiac, Festa was the business manager at Hamden Hall Country Day School where she served as the school's chief financial officer for eight years.
"That role made me realize how much I like working in an education environment, in particular the collegiality we enjoy," she said. "And there's nothing better than investing in the education of students."
Festa previously worked at Woodbridge-based Levitsky & Berney, P.C. for 20 years, where she attained the position of audit and staff manager after beginning her career there as a junior accountant.
"My new position allows me to use my experience in the education field along with my grant and financial auditing experience from public accounting, so it's a perfect fit for me," she said. "I'm excited to be a part of the growing controller's office and to be a player on this skilled team of professionals. They are a great group to work with and learn from."
Festa earned her bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting from Central Connecticut State University. She is a certified public accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA).
