Proposed soda and candy tax stirs debate in Connecticut
Dana White, a registered dietitian who is an a clinical assistant professor in the athletic training and sports medicine program at Quinnipiac University, is available today to discuss a proposed law that would put a special tax on sugary drinks and candy in Connecticut.
"I don't think parents really realize how much sugar are in these drinks," said White. "And I think if this whole initiative helps raise awareness--and also raises some money to help with these kinds of educational programs so that parents get more knowledge--that can't be a bad thing."
