June 13, 2013 - The Dean Brad Saxton 2L Endowed Scholarship has been established to provide financial aid to second-year law students.

The scholarship was a surprise to Saxton and was announced at a reception following a Dean's Council meeting on June 7. Saxton said he was thrilled to have his name associated with the scholarship and told the assembly of Council members, Law Alumni Association Executive Board members, faculty and staff that he was delighted to be returning to teaching and writing as a member of the School of Law faculty.

Having served as dean since 2002, Saxton is stepping down to return to the faculty June 30. Jennifer Gerarda Brown, the Carmen Tortora Professor of Law, has been named dean as of July 1.
