Oct. 22, 2012 - Members of the Quinnipiac Student Nurses Association visited veterans at the VA Hospital in West Haven on Oct. 21.

Students set up tables, created patriotic centerpieces, visited with patients, greeted veterans when in the dining area, and served an Italian meal with home-made baked goods.

"As a club, we also decided that the VA hospital would be a great place to give back to the community as one of our service events and show our appreciation and support for all the hard work and sacrifice our troops have done," said Megan Meier, vice president of QSNA.

"The event was a great success. All the students that came really enjoyed interacting with the veterans and left with a positive experience. I believe the veterans really loved that we came there, too, which made us feel like we accomplished so much with just one event," added Meier, who is also involved with Army ROTC.
