Panel discussion on state and federal court dispositions Oct. 28
Oct. 15, 2013 - The School of Law will host a panel discussion on the effects of state court criminal dispositions on federal court criminal prosecutions from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Grand Courtroom of the School of Law Center.
Attorney Max Simmons will moderate the panel, which will also include Assistant State's Attorney Kevin Doyle, Attorney Diane Polan, Assistant U.S. Attorney Rob Spector and Assistant State's Attorney Larry Tamaccio.
The panelists will discuss the relationship between state and federal court dispositions, including: the effect of state convictions on federal prosecutions and the effect of state court Alford Doctrine pleas on federal sentencing enhancements. In addition, they will discuss primary custody and its effect on the length of sentences served.
