Patton appointed director of counseling services
June 11, 2013 - Kerry Patton has been appointed the director of counseling services.
In her new position, Patton will be responsible for implementing University policies and procedures for identifying and serving the needs of distressed students; managing mental health-related emergencies; implementing the university's medical leave of absence policy; supervising mental health professionals; and providing training for faculty, staff and students.
"I am eager to provide guidance to students, families and faculty when students are challenged with stress that may be impacting their academic performance or their quality of life and assist them to accomplish their academic and personal goals," said Patton.
Before coming to Quinnipiac, Patton worked at Yale-New Haven Hospital-St. Raphael Campus, where she was the program manager of the child and adolescent psychiatric inpatient unit. Patton is also in private practice as a licensed clinical social worker at the Connecticut Healing Center.
Patton holds a master's degree in social work from Southern Connecticut State University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University.
