Performance of 'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' April 25-27

April 9, 2014 - University students will perform "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," April 25-27, in the Black Box Theater on the Mount Carmel Campus.

"The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is a contemporary musical comedy that is centered on six children and their efforts to win the county-wide spelling bee. Each child has very specific reasons for wanting to win, as well as very specific means they go through to do so. With the help of three adults - a peppy former spelling bee champion, a sarcastic vice principal and a criminal working off his community service at the event - these kids sing, dance and spell their way towards the trophy and a national spelling bee championship.

Ashley DiFranza is the director of this show, which is being produced by Fourth Wall Theater, a student theater group. Emily Seibert is the musical director, and Alec Farquharson is the assistant director. The cast includes: Olivia Bartolomei, Alex DeNoncour, Anthony DePasquale, Zack Glassman, Tiffany Green, Connor Hadley, Joe Kohle, Alexandra Lorca and Kristen Valera.

Show times are at: 7 p.m. on April 25; 2 and 8 p.m. on April 26; and 2 p.m. on April 27.
