Poet Jenny Zhang to read at Quinnipiac Nov. 12

Sept. 25, 2013 - Jenny Zhang, a writer from Williamsburg, N.Y., will read excerpts of her fiction, non-fiction and poetry at 6 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 12, in the Carl Hansen Student Center, Room 119, on the Mount Carmel Campus.

This event, part of the creative writing program's "Yawp!" Series, an open dialogue on creativity and the arts, is free and open to the public.

Zhang's work has been published widely in literary journals including Fence, Glimmertrain, Pen American and Coconut. Her first full-length poetry collection, "Dear Jenny, We Are All Find," was published by Octopus Books in 2012. 

An alumna of Stanford University, Zhang was awarded a Teaching-Writing Fellowship and Provost Fellowship at the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She currently teaches high school students in the Bronx, N.Y.
