September 10, 2001 - Green, Ferrer Neck And Neck At The Wire, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds; Two-Thirds Of Voters Say Their Mind Is Made Up
Public Advocate Mark Green and Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer are neck and neck among likely Democratic primary voters as the New York City mayoral race goes down to the wire, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Among likely Democratic voters:
  • Green gets 30 percent;
  • Ferrer gets 29 percent;
  • City Council Speaker Peter Vallone gets 14 percent;
  • Comptroller Alan Hevesi gets 12 percent;
  • 16 percent remain undecided.
Among these likely voters, 34 percent say they might change their mind before tomorrow's primary election, while 66 percent say their mind is made up.

From September 4 - September 9, Quinnipiac University surveyed 822 registered Democrats of whom 376 were determined to be New York City likely Democratic primary voters, with a margin of error of +/- 5.1 percent.
