Participants included 28 full- and part-time faculty from programs across the University: business, communications, computer information systems, economics, engineering, English, exercise physiology, finance, management, music, occupational therapy, social work and sociology. The three days were devoted to exploring the linkages between thinking, writing and collaborating on assignment design.
Responses to the workshop were overwhelmingly positive. Wrote one participant, "I felt this course was an excellent foundation to advance what we do in the classroom."
According to Paul Pasquaretta, the Research and Writing Institute coordinator who arranged the workshop, "We hope the training will provide a starting point for discussions about pedagogy and outcomes across and within the disciplines. The workshop is about building dialogue and community around our common goals."
