SPB plans inaugural Picklefest

March 20, 2024

Jars of pickles on a table.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to a dill-ightful extravaganza on the Mount Carmel Campus Quad on Sunday, March 24 from noon to 4 p.m., with merchandise, pickleball games, a cookout and pickles galore.

At Picklefest 2024, attendees can anticipate a plethora of pickle-themed treats, including pickle-flavored snacks and interactive activities like making your own pickles.

There will be two five-gallon buckets of pickles, more than three dozen jars of pickles with a variety of pickle types to choose from and pickle-flavored snacks like pretzels, popcorn, chips and candy available for attendees to savor.

In addition, attendees can explore the limited-edition merchandise, pose with friends at the photo booth and participate in a raffle for a chance to one of the six prize baskets.

“We have spent months brainstorming how to show our love for pickles to the Quinnipiac audience as well as ways to include students who don't like pickles,” said Jaylene Guerra, traditions and community chair of the Student Programming board. “There will also be a cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs and lots of other snacks.”

These offerings promise a pickle-packed day of fun for attendees, whether they're die-hard pickle enthusiasts or simply looking for a fun and unique event to attend.

The rain location for this event is SC-119 and SC-120.

“Everyone is welcome to come check out this event. SPB programs for undergraduate students so anyone can come to participate in activities, get food and get merch,” said Guerra. “If any faculty or staff want to come check it out, they are welcome!"
