Military Friendly®, a non-profit that measures an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunities for the military community, has named Quinnipiac as the No. 9 military-friendly private university in the United States that offers doctoral degrees.

“Quinnipiac faculty and staff members ensure our warrior-scholars thrive with this great educational opportunity stemming from their military service,” said Jason Burke, director of veteran and military affairs. “However, it is our student veterans’ laser focus on their degree path that reflects our high MFS ranking. Their diligence, maturity, camaraderie and sense of mission are the main reasons for our overall success. I am extremely proud to continue to share this experience with these great Americans and to be recognized for our team effort.”

Schools that achieve the Military Friendly® designation show true commitment and dedication in their efforts. This recognition provides schools with a benchmark that promotes positive educational outcomes, resources, and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the military community.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,200 schools participated in the survey, with 747 schools earning the designation.

The Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine.

In addition to the Military Friendly® distinction, Military Times has ranked Quinnipiac University No. 1 in Connecticut, No. 3 in the Northeast and No. 12 nationally for private, non-profit universities in its “Best for Vets: Colleges” rankings. Quinnipiac also is included on Veteran Magazine’s “Best of the Best” list.
