Certificate Program in Magnetic Resonance Imaging

The Department of Diagnostic Imaging offers a certificate program in magnetic resonance imaging designed to assist current radiologic technologists in training and proficiency in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) operation, sectional anatomy American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) examination results.

The two-semester, 20-credit program includes hands-on labs on the 1.5T Toshiba Vantage system in the School of Health Sciences facility on Quinnipiac's North Haven Campus.

All academic courses are offered in the evenings for the busy RT, along with flexible clinical assignments to help you meet the ARRT clinical objectives.

Fall course offerings include:
RS 322 Sectional Anatomy I (3 credits)
RS 415: MRI - I (3 credits)
RS 415L: MRI Lab I (1 credit)
RS 417: Clinical Practicum I* (1 credit)

Spring course offerings include:
RS 323: Sectional Anatomy II (3 credits)
RS 416: MRI - II (3 credits)
RS 416L: MRI Lab II (1 credit)
RS 418: Clinical Practicum II* (2 credits)
RS 460: Pathology for CT and MRI Technologists (3 credits)

*Both clinical practicums are a minimum of 24 hours per week
