Minor Overview

By pursuing a Minor in Human Movement, you’ll gain a strong foundational understanding of normal human movement as compared to pathological movement across the lifespan. Courses will allow you to develop the early thought processes and disciplinary content necessary for careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, prosthetics and orthotics, biomechanics and kinesiology. This minor serves as an excellent on-ramp to many healthcare career pathways.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Apply medical knowledge to common and typical scenarios to guide patient care

  2. Describe scientific knowledge for general and pathologic human movement

  3. Describe basic human movement across the lifespan

  4. Describe basic anatomy of the peripheral nervous system

  5. Correlate under guidance the clinical presentation with basic anatomy and pathophysiology of movement disorders
