You'll get plenty of practical experience at Quinnipiac's student-run publications and broadcasting stations, whether you're on the air or working behind the scenes. Most media organizations operate out of the Media Suite located in the Carl Hansen Student Center room 125. WQAQ radio operates out of the radio station in Carl Hansen Student Center room 203.
These opportunities, available to all undergraduates, are just one reason our alumni in communications do so well.
The Chronicle (newspaper)
Quinnipiac's official student-run newspaper offers the opportunity to participate in reporting, copy editing, photography, layout and advertising. The award-winning newspaper is published on Wednesdays throughout the academic year and updates its website continuously.
Interactive Digital Organization (multimedia design)
The QU Interactive Design Organization is a group of students in the interactive design major or minor, as well as students who have an interest in the field. Montage (literary magazine)
Montage, Quinnipiac's student-run arts and literary organization, highlights student poetry, plays, short stories, photography, graphic design and artwork in an annual fall showcase and in a print magazine in spring. The magazine is available free of charge to the entire University community.
Q30 (television station)
Quinnipiac's student-run, closed-circuit television station has a studio in the Carl Hansen Student Center Media Suite. Q30 provides the opportunity for students to create television programming and operate production equipment. Live and taped programming is aired on the Mount Carmel and York Hill Campuses.
QBSN - The Quinnipiac Bobcats Sports Network
Staffed by students, QBSN is the sole online broadcast network for most Quinnipiac athletics. It is the exclusive broadcaster of men's and women's soccer, field hockey, volleyball, baseball, softball, lacrosse and women's ice hockey. Students can also cover a specific team and write for the QBSN blog and print publication, The Bobcat Bulletin.
QuinniPR (QPR) is a student-run Public Relations firm. QPR provides free public relations work and guidance for any and all organizations within Quinnipiac University or an off-campus entity within the local area.
The Summit Yearbook
Each year the student staff of this award-winning yearbook publishes a 220-page hardback volume covering University events, student life and organizations, and athletics. Positions in photography, creative design, advertising and editing are available.
