Undergraduate Residences

The Complex offers the most unique style of all University housing. The building's award-winning design was modeled after the Olympic Village in Calgary. The building has a southwestern flair with bright colors and a stucco exterior. The Complex, located on the Mount Carmel Campus, houses sophomore and transfer students in six-person apartments.

The 80s are referred to as Sahlin Hall, the 90s are referred to Founder's Hall and the 100s are known as Bakke Hall. Each apartment offers three bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and kitchen, and features lots of built-in storage. Sahlin Hall offers a classroom used for QU 101 and other courses. The Complex features a courtyard used for large scale programming and provides a place for students to play ball, throw a Frisbee, study or soak in the sunshine.

The Commons is a freshman residence hall located over the wooden bridge at the beginning of Bobcat Way on the Mount Carmel Campus. While the building is coed, the rooms, hallways and bathrooms are assigned to a single sex. Bathrooms are located on the hallway and are used by approximately 50 residents. Each room has four loft beds, four desks and four free-standing closets. Each room also has four separate phone and computer lines. The building also has one kitchen and one laundry area in each of the three lobbies.

The Crescent and Westview residence hall gives upper class students the opportunity to live on the York Hill Campus. One of our newest residence halls, it features a unique, award-winning design as well as an excellent location near the Rocky Top Student Center on the York Hill Campus.

The Crescent and Westview features three types of apartments. The majority of the apartments have three bedrooms, a common room, a full kitchen and two full bathrooms. There are a few two-bedroom apartments scattered through the residence hall. These apartments feature a common room, a full kitchen and two full bathrooms.

The Westview section of The Crescent offers four-bedroom apartments for senior students in 2012 - 2013. The Westview is the only section that features three single bedrooms and a double bedroom.

All are handicapped accessible and there are elevators throughout the residence hall. Resident assistants live throughout the building and are responsible for programming and maintaining a safe environment for the residents.

New in Fall 2011, Eastview completes the residential area at the York Hill Campus. The apartments in Eastview were built exclusively with seniors in mind, featuring more single beds, private bathrooms and air conditioning. Students will enjoy the view of downtown New Haven from the roof top lounges. There are several different style apartments in Eastview: five single bedrooms, three singles and a double, four single rooms and one double room. These apartments also have two private bathrooms. The living room and kitchen area is also furnished with a dinette set, a love seat and chair. All are handicapped accessible and there is an elevator in the residence hall.

The Hill is a highly sought out residence hall that houses sophomores. The Hill is comprised of seven brownstone-style buildings, and each has its own set of steps which promotes a cozy, homelike feeling. Each building has six apartments housing seven students in each. Apartments in The Hill offer three bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room and kitchen. Third floor apartments feature skylights in the kitchen area and lofted ceilings. All apartments in The Hill are air-conditioned and feature a comfortable balcony or patio ideal for get-togethers.

Larson, Perlroth and Troup, known to our campus community as The Suites, are similar two-floor, first-year residence halls. Each has a spacious "mall area" with a vaulted skylight and palm trees. Located on the Mount Carmel Campus, each suite-style residence hall has 19 suites that house eight students. The Townhouses on York Hill are similar to the Village on the Mount Carmel Campus, the most popular area in University housing. The Townhouses feature 21 apartments, each with three double bedrooms, a full-sized kitchen, a large furnished living room and a bathroom.Students have easy access to the TD Bank Sports Center and the Rocky Top Student Center, which includes a cafeteria, study and student organization space, a computer support services and a fitness center.

The Village community is home to two areas: Village and New Village. The community is composed of 28 buildings with 14 buildings each in Village and New village. Each building has four suites housing between five and 10 sophomore students. Located on the Mount Carmel Campus, the Village suites are typically multi-level with a common room, from two to four bedrooms, and a bathroom.

The Whitney Village Apartments are air-conditioned apartments selected for seniors. There are one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and all students live in either single or double occupancy bedrooms. Each apartment includes a furnished living area, kitchen and bathroom. There is one phone line with voicemail per apartment and full wireless connectivity inside as well as in the courtyard outside. The large courtyard offers a large green area, including picnic tables.

Quinnipiac offers upperclassmen students a unique real world living experience. These houses are located throughout the town of Hamden. Most houses are surrounded by other Quinnipiac University students, while some are in the midst of Hamden residential neighborhoods.

Each house has a living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. These houses are home to four students. There are Community Assistants who live in the neighborhoods and provide similar services as RAs on the Mount Carmel and York Hill campuses. Transportation
Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from campus. It is recommended that students bring their own vehicle to drive to and from campus. There is a Quinnipiac University shuttle that makes stops at two locations near the Mount Carmel Campus on New Road. The shuttle stops at Lucien Drive and at the corner of New Road and Ives Street.
