Technology Resources

At Quinnipiac, we understand the importance of technology in your college experience.

All campus buildings are networked—including the residence halls —and because we have a wireless network, you can go online anytime, anywhere. All incoming freshmen are required to purchase a laptop, and strongly encouraged to participate in the University's laptop purchase program. We also supply free Web space so every student and faculty member can create a personal Web page. An internal Web site for the Quinnipiac community, MyQ, offers news and information tailored for current students.

If you run into trouble with your laptop, you need to borrow a camcorder for a class project or you want help configuring your smartphone, we have a comprehensive support team in place to assist.

Quinnipiac has computer labs and cutting-edge technology across the campus:

  • Business students experience the thrill of working in a financial trading room at the Terry W. Goodwin ’67 Financial Technology Center. Software installed in the center's 50 computer workstations allows undergraduate and graduate students to access real-time financial data from markets all over the world.
  • Communications students make the most of a fully digital high-definition television studio that's better than what you'll find at major networks. And that's not all: There are radio production studios, digital video editing suites and a news technology center modeled after a working newsroom.
  • School of Health Sciences students have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including a SimMan suite of life-size patient simulators, a pediatric and neonatal lab, magnetic resonance simulators and 3-D workstations.
  • Students in the athletic training/sports medicine program study human movement in the motion analysis laboratory, which is equipped with an eight-camera kinematic analysis system.
  • The interactive digital design program uses a lab of 17 student (and one instructor) dual-G5 (64-bit) Apple Macintosh workstations. This lab has software installed across the spectrum of design ranging from Photoshop to Maya.
  • The computer science lab can support more than a dozen independent work stations and serves as the focal point for production of imbedded systems and robotics. The lab also hosts hardware and software simulators for the study of computer architecture.
  • Our course management system (based on Blackboard) includes a linked online class registration system (WebAdvisor) that allows students to sign up for courses and access their transcripts online.
  • A complete catalog of online courses is offered to Quinnipiac students during the summer. QU Online also offers a range of academic programs for students who wish to complete a degree online.
