We are committed to improving student writing at Quinnipiac through two key efforts:
Our vision for this campus dialogue requires that we promote a combination of teaching and learning strategies, from writing-to-learn practices to linked assignments leading to capstone course work, and many layers of campus involvement, from administrative support to the Freshman Writing Program to individual departments and programs in the undergraduate school.
As with most WAC programs, we endorse the position that teaching writing is also about teaching learning, and so it is a responsibility that all members of the undergraduate academy share a responsibility to promote. Our primary work, then, is to help everyone in the community meet that responsibility in a useful and productive way, through workshops, scholarship and the dissemination of materials.
