Application Materials
For your application to be considered complete, you must submit:
- The completed application form
- $45 application fee
- Resume
- Two professional references
- Official postsecondary transcripts
- Official evaluation of foreign academic credentials
- Official TOEFL or IELTS score report
- Official Statement of Financial Support and supporting documentation
- A copy of your passport or national identification card
Candidates holding degrees from foreign institutions must provide notarized English translations of their academic records.
Additional materials may be required by your intended program. It is your responsibility to make sure that all required application materials have been submitted.
All application materials become part of the permanent student record at Quinnipiac and will not be returned. Access to this material is limited under the Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. Applicants who are not admitted or who are admitted and do not register do not have access to their application file.

Application Deadlines
Admission for most programs is rolling; decisions are made individually as an application becomes complete.
Because of the time needed to obtain visas, all application materials must be received by Quinnipiac by the set deadlines.
Standardized Admission Tests
Quinnipiac requires the following standardized admission tests:
- MBA programs require the GMAT.
- MAT programs require Praxis I.
- Public Relations program requires the GRE.
- Law school programs require the LSAT. (If accepted to the School of Law, the GMAT is not required for application to the joint law/business programs.)
Applicants from Foreign Countries
All applicants from non-English-speaking countries must also provide official Test of English as a Foreign Language scores.
In general, a minimum TOEFL Internet-based score of 90 is required for admission (or 233 for computer based, or 575 for paper based). Beginning in 2006, the computer- and paper-based versions will start to be phased out, and the Internet-based test will be used exclusively. For country-specific information about this change and the timeline for implementation, please visit the TOEFL Web site.
In lieu of TOEFL, applicants may submit International English Language Testing System scores. A minimum score of 6.5 on this exam, a B or above on the Certificate of Advanced English or a C or above on the Certificate of Proficiency in English is required. TOEFL and IELTS scores are valid for two years.
International applicants are required to submit proof of adequate funds to complete their study at Quinnipiac University before an eligibility form (I-20) can be issued. Complete the Statement of Financial Support and submit along with supporting documentation. In addition, a copy of a passport or national ID is required.
Application Review Process
All complete applications are carefully reviewed by faculty members of the appropriate program and the director of admissions.
The admissions committee makes a recommendation to the graduate admissions director. Once the final decision is made, the applicant is informed by graduate admissions.
Admissions Categories
Offers of admission to Quinnipiac’s graduate programs are made for a specific term and year. Offers made to students currently completing their undergraduate degrees are contingent upon the successful completion of those degree programs. An official final transcript must be sent to graduate admissions before the student may enroll in graduate classes.
Regular Admission
Regular admission is offered to students whose application files are complete.
Conditional Admission
This allows students to begin their graduate program while granting them an extension to submit a required document. Alternatively, some students may be granted a one- or two-semester period either to complete additional prerequisite courses specified by their program or to achieve the program’s regular curriculum.
Candidates offered conditional admission are given a deadline for the completion of their files. Failure to meet this deadline may result in suspension from student status.
Deferred Admission
Applicants who cannot enroll in the term for which admission was offered can request to have their admission deferred for up to one year. Such requests must be in writing and will be considered on an individual basis. Applicants who have had their admission deferred cannot register for courses at the school during the period of deferment.
Deferred admission is not offered for the physician assistant or pathologists’ assistant programs.
Incomplete Applications
Applications that are not complete by the specified date of the term for which admission is desired will be placed in an inactive status. A written request is needed to reactivate an application. Applicants whose files are more than one year old must reapply.
Materials received from applicants who do not complete their application, who are not admitted or who are admitted and do not matriculate are held for one year before being destroyed.
