Quinnipiac students get plenty of attention from their professors. But when they need extra academic help, they can rely on a number of support services, many of which are offered through the Learning Center.
Peer tutors work one on one to help students with every aspect of the writing process. Group workshop sessions help students write, study and complete their coursework better and, of course, to earn better grades.
Research Assistance
With an extensive collection designed to specifically complement Quinnipiac’s range of courses, the Arnold Bernhard Library is a formidable resource. The library is also the hub for a wide variety of databases covering journals, periodicals, newspapers and e-books. These information systems complement the collections of print and nonprint materials.
The librarians at the reference desk help Quinnipiac students learn the research process—a skill that carries over to students’ later careers and professions. Whatever the type of research, they suggest the materials or databases best suited for students’ needs. They also discuss how to critically evaluate the materials students are reviewing. Students can make personalized appointments, or the information can be shared as a class assignment. The library also offers an online tutorial, which is a great way to kick off your relationship with this important resource.
Writing Support
Writing is key to success in college and beyond—which is why Quinnipiac works hard at helping students develop strong writing skills. The Writing Across the Curriculum program uses hands-on learning to help students become better writers, strong critical thinkers and innovative scholars.
Advising
Every Quinnipiac student is assigned a faculty adviser. Advisers play a crucial role for students as they transition to college life, create an academic plan and develop goals for life after graduation.
Computer Support
The Computer Help Desk, located in Tator Hall, offers assistance with e-mail and applications used by the Quinnipiac Community such as Blackboard, WebSpace, FileSpace and WebAdvisor. It also provides hardware and software support for computers bought through the Quinnipiac University Laptop Purchase Program. More...
