The standards, curriculum and programs of the School of Business have earned it full accreditation from the AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is one of only seven Connecticut institutions and just over 400 in North America to have earned that accreditation.
The Lender School of Business Center is the perfect environment for learning: television monitors displaying breaking financial news, case team rooms for case study projects and larger classrooms wired for computer-driven learning.
A wide choice of courses prepares you for the complexities of modern business practices, from accounting to finances, to personnel. A recently added major in advertising opens the door to a creative area that is essential for business success.
The outstanding faculty are up-to-date on modern business conditions and practices. They are expert communicators in class and encouraging mentors away from the class. They teach curricula that are continually reviewed by the Business Advisory Board, composed of CEOs from nearby corporations.
The School of Business also co-sponsors more than 150 internship sites to give you first-hand experience in a business environment. School of Business students have studied on site at the American Broadcasting Company, Pratt and Whitney, Stanley Works, Ernst & Young and the Bayer Corporation, to name a few. Finance majors have an opportunity to study the action at the world center of finance -- the New York Stock Exchange - and spend part of their day with Quinnipiac alumni who are members and traders.
Because today's marketplace is truly global exchange, agreements with foreign schools and universities enable our students to study abroad. Our agreement with Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Rennes in France opens the exciting possibility of a semester of study with other international students. In China, Quinnipiac's affiliation with the Beijing Technology and Business University enables students to explore business practices in Asia. Students gain global knowledge with timely courses in international business.
Quinnipiac's person-to-person emphasis includes future career planning. The freshman business course in your first year begins career awareness. In your second year, you work with career counselors to assess your interests and strengths. The University also sponsors job fairs that draw large numbers of recruiters from industries across the United States.
The School of Business offers several graduate programs. These include the masters in business administration (MBA), masters in accounting and masters in computer information systems. In addition, qualified undergraduate students can pursue a combined BS/MBA, BS/MS in accounting or BS/MS CIS degree. Students at Quinnipiac's School of Law can pursue a combined MBA/JD and a combined MBA/JD in health care management.
The School of Business also offers two certificate programs in health administration: the Health Care Compliance Certificate program and the Long-Term Care Certificate program.
