Whether it's a work study-job on campus, an off-campus job, or scholarships and loans, there are so many ways to pay for Quinnipiac. I currently have an academic scholarship and a music scholarship from Quinnipiac. By keeping up your grades and involvement on campus, there are so many opportunities to be granted scholarships. I also know students who are a part of the work-study program at QU, and they work a couple days a week to help pay for tuition.

Look into what scholarship opportunities are available in your hometown, for your specific major, or for any extra-curricular activities! I currently have an off-campus job at a preschool in Cheshire. I work a couple days a week, and all of my pay goes toward my tuition. There are so many places nearby that may appeal to your major if you need an off-campus job. It will all work out if this is truly where you want to spend your college career.

Start by filling out your FAFSA form. This will let you know if you qualify to receive grants, federal student loans and work-study. Federal work-study is an excellent program because it gives you extra money in your pocket while at school. It also gives you a sense of independence because won't need to call home every time you need money. You can apply for scholarships in your town, in your city, or those listed on Web sites such as Fastweb and scholarship.com. You can begin to save $10 a week to assist in funding your education as far as purchasing books.

The price of college was definitely an issue for me and my family while I was looking for schools. Luckily, I received a nice scholarship from Quinnipiac and some local scholarships at home. You'd be surprised how many scholarships there are available even by a basic online search. You can also apply for work- study or a regular on-campus job with facilities or the STAR program. After your freshman year, you can also apply to become a resident assistant, which covers the cost of your room and board.

The price of attending college was a huge concern for me, but Quinnipiac offered me an excellent financial aid award package, which included scholarships, grants and some loans. I also searched the Web and asked around--there are many organizations that offer scholarships. The University also offers work-study on campus, so you can work and earn some extra spending money!
