More than 30 students collected garbage along Dixwell Avenue and adjacent streets March 26, 2006. Mayor Craig Henrici says, "On behalf of Hamden's residents, I thank Quinnipiac law students and undergraduates who participated with the Clean and Green Commission to clean up Southern Hamden. It's noteworthy that they gave up their weekend to help make Hamden a better place to live and work. Quinnipiac student volunteers make a significant contribution to the quality of life in Hamden, which we greatly appreciate."
