This weekend event will ease your transition to college and spark your excitement about Quinnipiac. You’ll quickly get involved by participating in a number of activities like singing karaoke, exploring the campus and getting to know your professors. “I remember feeling lost and very confused about what to expect. My orientation leaders quickly made me feel connected and excited about becoming a freshman at Quinnipiac,” said Maura Greehan.
When you arrive, you’ll be put into a group of about 12 incoming students. Each group is led by two upperclassmen, and every year the orientation leaders pick a theme and a logo for the sessions. For example, one year the theme was “How Sweet it Is,” and the corresponding logo was jellybeans. Each group chooses an individual name that goes with the logo—a specific jellybean flavor in this instance. So each group has its own identity (e.g., the Wild Cherry group), and it’s something you’ll hold onto and remember long after you graduate.
Details: This year's sessions, held Friday to Saturday, were offered on May 30-31 and two weekends in June: June 6-7 and 13-14. The final orientation session--for students who were unable to attend one of the three summer sessions--will be held Aug. 21-22, just before the start of Fall term classes. Once you've paid your deposit, we send you information on how to register online for the session of your choice. If you're traveling from a distance, you can also request to arrive early on Thursday night. Orientation FAQ.
