Most weekends I stay at Quinnipiac. Some people say we’re a suitcase school, which is absolutely false!
Every week there’s a listing of activities occurring on campus. They offer everything from movies, to student performances, to off-campus trips... On nice days during the fall and spring we’ll hike Sleeping Giant Mountain. Other times we’ll drive to the Meriden or Milford malls.
The more you get involved on campus, the more activities you have to choose from on the weekends because many clubs will sponsor and plan different events. Plus, the more involved you are, the more people you meet, so the more people you have to do things with. I never feel bored on campus. There’s always something to do and someone to hang out with.

Since I belong to a sorority and other organizations on campus it gives me tons to do on weekends. There are the great movies that SPB puts on every weekend as well as the many other clubs and organizations here on campus that put on activities all weekend long! I’ve met some really cool people. I met Ruthie and Colon from Real World Hawaii, the Warrens (they’re ghost hunters), Jane Goodall and many other speakers—there are just too many to name. I have been to almost all the concerts that the campus has provided, and saw Third Eye Blind, Dane Cook and Josh Kelley. (I even got his autograph.) They were all such a good time! We will usually venture down into New Haven, where there are some 18-and-up clubs, museums, small private restaurants, theaters, coffee houses and specialty stores. We love to go to Wooster Street! It’s New Haven’s own Little Italy with some of the best Italian pastry and pizza you’ll ever eat. Another really cool thing about Quinnipiac is that we’re only about 15 minutes away from a public beach! When it’s warm we usually venture down to the beach for a weekend. Michael Harrington '07 |
