Athletic training student receives scholarship for graduate studies
April 21, 2008

 Erin Hagedorn

Senior Erin Hagedorn has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship for graduate studies from the National Athletic Trainers' Association Research and Education Foundation.

The nonprofit group awards approximately 70 scholarships annually to individuals who will be full-time graduate students during the following academic year.

Hagedorn will pursue her master's degree in athletic training at the University of Kentucky. After completing the two-year program, Hagedorn plans to pursue a position as an athletic trainer at a small college. She says she was surprised to receive the scholarship since she was competing against candidates from across the country.

Hagedorn will formally accept the scholarship at the William E. Newell Athletic Training Student Awards Luncheon on June 18 in St. Louis, Mo.
