Brian Jacobson, a junior in the School of Communications, has been appointed to the Northeast Regional Leadership Team of the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA).

"I am so happy to have been selected for the 2010 NACA Northeastern Conference. I became involved in QU After Dark my first semester and later joined the Student Programming Board. Because of my leadership roles within both organizations, I was afforded the opportunity to attend two NACA conferences." Jacobson said.

QU After Dark is a committee of students and staff who organize Friday and Saturday night campus social activities.

As part of the Northeast Regional Leadership Team, Jacobson will interact with student leaders and staff members from other schools in the Northeast, showcasing the strength of Quinnipiac's leadership program.

The National Association for Campus Activities advances higher education campus activities through a business and learning partnership, creating educational and business opportunities for its school and professional members. Established in 1960, the organization now has more than 1,000 college and university members and close to 650 associate members who represent artists, lecturers and performers.

"This is a very proud moment for the Office of Student Leadership and Leadership Development at Quinnipiac University," said John Stinchon, assistant director of Student Center & Leadership Development. "The work Brian has put into his positions at Quinnipiac and the volunteering he has taken on at the conference has afforded him this opportunity."

Every year Quinnipiac's Student Programming Board sends a delegation to the NACA regional and national conference. Students attend educational sessions about programming, leadership, time management and many other developmental topics.

"Brian's imagination is endless, dedication is untouched, and his touch is like Midas," Stinchon said. "From everyone in the office, we are very proud of him to have achieved such an important position with the NACA organization."
