Quinnipiac sorority throws frisbees to fight domestic violence

Quinnipiac students at Frisbee Fest

The Quinnipiac chapter of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority held its 12th annual "Frisbee Fest" event Oct. 4, 2009, to benefit the Domestic Violence Shelter of Greater New Haven.

The fight against domestic violence is the national philanthropy of the sorority. "There is nothing more rewarding than knowing that you can make a difference in people's lives by holding an event like the Frisbee Fest," said Ashley Duncan '10, vice president of service for the chapter.

This is one of many examples of Quinnipiac's community outreach. The University is constantly engaged in projects to benefit local residents and organizations. Faculty, staff and students raise money for charity, spend time with seniors, visit schools to read to children, coach youth sports teams, invite children to campus for social and education events and provide free legal service through our law clinics.
