What You Can Expect to Accomplish
Expect to leave the center with a plan to accomplish an academic goal. Whether you meet with a peer tutor or one of our learning professionals, you’ll cover topics that are directly relevant to your success as a student.
If you come to see a tutor, you’ll have time to review material from your class or to get help with hard-to-complete assignments. You’ll have access to the perspective of a student who understands the demands of your course and knows how to excel because he or she has done so. Meeting with an experienced peer educator will help you determine exactly how to manage the work and how to take advantage of even the most challenging learning opportunities.
Our learning professionals are full-time administrators with access to the resources and information that will help you fulfill your potential as a student -- whether that means discussing your study habits or determining an actionable plan for coping with a disability. Ultimately, your educational success is the result of your own effort. Our learning professionals can help you make the right decisions for you to succeed.
If a peer fellow supports a particular class you’re enrolled in, you’ll have the opportunity to meet weekly with the fellow who can show you how to do well because he or she has already aced the course.
Whom You’ll Work With
Three full-time learning professionals and more than 60 student tutors, fellows and assistants are ready for your visit.

The Learning Center should be your go-to resource for your needs as an emerging lifelong learner.
Where You’ll Find Us
The Learning Center is in 119 Tator Hall. If you’re in a class with a peer fellow you’ll also see him or her in class every day. You’ll see our learning professionals in classes when professors invite them for presentations, at our weekly learning skills seminars or leading their own classes. You’ll also see our tutors all around campus because they’re students, just like you, and exceptionally active in both academic and extracurricular activities.
