Individual academic counseling is an opportunity for you to meet one-on-one with a trained mentor who can help you develop an action plan for better grades. The Learning Center staff has an extensive background in learning theory and fast access to our program resources. Working together, we will identify appropriate strategies to help you meet your goals.
An individual action plan (IAP) consists of strategies to capitalize on your strengths and to improve your weaknesses. An IAP identifies academic goals, specific actions to reach them and the means to assess the actions.
Using various self-assessment tools, sample exercises, and feedback from faculty, you’ll work with a Learning Center staff member to create pertinent, usable strategies. These IAPs are reviewed weekly and are supported by our programs and other resources on campus.
