Peer Group Study Program

Our peer study group program offers students another opportunity to practice their learning. Based on the model of Supplemental Instruction, we offer guided study groups for specific classes. The groups are facilitated by a peer fellow, a student who, like our peer tutors, has earned a superlative grade in the class and is recommended by the professor. This peer fellow attends each class meeting and, working with the professor, develops an agenda for the week’s group meeting.

Students attending can expect the peer fellow to support them through the material they want to practice, helping them not just understand challenging content, but also realize that they have been learning better skills as they practice.

Any student enrolled in the specific class may attend the study group. You’ll find that this opportunity is not just for students having trouble. Superior students use this opportunity to lead discussions to maintain and increase their competence.
