Quinnipiac University and Hamden Area
Great Hunger/Irish Famine Collection—Available in the Arnold Bernhard Library.
Theater for Community—Student performances each semester.
Albert Schweitzer Institute—Exhibits and displays about Albert Schweitzer and other topics.
Special Events on Campus--The University hosts a variety of events each semester, including lectures, musical performances and art exhibits. Most are free and open to the public.
Jonathan Dickerman House Museum--Late 18th-century farming home that includes an herb garden with plants used in folk medicines. Located just steps from campus at 105 Mount Carmel Ave. Open July-August, weekends 1-4 p.m. Call for appointment Sept-June. Free.

New Haven
Peabody Museum—Includes exhibits of dinosaurs and geology.
Yale Repertory Theater—Several productions per semester.
Long Wharf Theatre—Several productions per semester.
Shubert Theater—Several concerts and musicals per semester.
Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library—Yale University’s archives and special collection.
Yale University Art Gallery—A wide variety of art from around the world.
Yale Center for British Art—The largest collection of British art outside of the United Kingdom.

Hartford
Wadsworth Atheneum—Art museum with a fabulous permanent collection and traveling exhibits.
The Mark Twain House and Museum --House tours, special exhibits and other programs
Hartford Symphony Orchestra --Presents more than 100 concerts annually
Harriet Beecher Stowe Center --House and garden tours offered throughout the year.
Hartford Stage—Several productions per semester.

Additional opportunities are available in Boston and New York. The campus is 90 minutes from New York and two hours from Boston.
