General Program Questions
Who is eligible to participate?
All phones and pricing plans in the QU Mobile Communications Program are available to students as well as faculty and staff at the university. You must have a valid Quinnipiac University account to participate in this program.
Where can I find plan and phone pricing information?
Full details on phones and pricing is available on Sprint's QU Mobile ordering site. QU Mobile orders are discounted 10%, and all calling plans carry one-year contracts.
Who can I call to get help on my phone? My bill?
Sprint has set up a special "Premier Care" support line for the program: 866-639-8354.
Is there a QU Mobile office on campus that I can visit? What can I do there?
The QU Mobile Office is located on the lower level of the Faculty Office Building (FOB).
At the QU Mobile Office, you can:

Can I activate my phone directly at the QU Mobile Office?
Yes. When you order your phone, it will be sent directly to you within three to five business days. If you then stop by the QU Mobile office, we'll activate your phone and discuss your phone's special features and preferred applications.

Can I add my family to my account or have more than one line on my account?
Yes. QU Mobile offers a Sprint family plan that allows four other family members to benefit from the program's discounts. See more information at the QU Mobile ordering site.
Can I go to a Sprint retail store off campus and buy a phone?
QU Mobile program phones can only be purchased through QU Mobile's website or on-campus office.
How long will it take for me to receive my phone after I place the order?
Most orders and upgrades should arrive within 3 to 5 business days
How long will my contract last?
Contracts are one year in duration.
What if I already have a cell phone? How can I take advantage of the QU Mobile plans?
You can transfer (or "port") your number into the QU Mobile program. To do this, call Sprint customer care at 866-639-8354 and explain that you want to port your current number into the QU Mobile Program. At that point you would start a one-year contract.
Do I have to pay the cancellation fee from my current carrier if I transfer into the program?
Yes.
Is there a deposit or contract needed for me to sign up?
Can I have my phone shipped to the school? Shipped to my home address?
You can have your phone shipped to any address that you prefer.
To avoid potential delays related to shipping to a student address through Quinnipiac's mailroom, you may have your phone shipped to the QU Mobile Office on campus. Please include your name and the following address in the appropriate fields on the ordering Web site.

What is an Automatic Spending Limit (ASL)?
There will be a required $150 automatic spending limit (ASL) on your monthly plan to help you manage your spending on overage minutes. If you exceed the $150 limit, your next outbound call will be "hot-lined" to Sprint customer care where you will be asked to pay your existing balance prior to you being able to use your phone. Note that your phone will always be able to make 911 calls.
Why is there an Automatic Spending Limit on QU Mobile accounts?
The spending limit allows you to use your phone freely without running up a high monthly bill. Using minutes over your allotted rate plan amount or downloading premium content and ring tones can add up very quickly. The spending limit will give you peace of mind to use your phone the way you want to, and be able to clear your balance easily to continue to get value from the QU Mobile program.
How does QU Mobile accommodate BlackBerry devices?
BlackBerry Smart phones are available through the program. However, you'll need to purchase a BlackBerry Data plan for an additional cost on top of your regular voice, text and data plan.
Are there cancellation fees if I change my mind after ordering?
You can cancel your service and return your phone with no penalties within 30 days of purchase.

How can I pay for the phone and bill?
You can pay your bill via major credit card through the Sprint on-line system at www.Sprint.com, as well as by personal check. Call Sprint customer care at 866-639-8354 for details.
Can I change my plan without extending my contract?
Yes. Plan changes are permissible with possible prorated fees, depending on plan changes.
Why won't my phone make any outgoing calls?
If your phone won't make outbound calls, contact Sprint customer care at 866-639-8354 to ensure you haven't reached your spending limit. Assuming your account is in good standing, you should go to the QU Mobile Office to have your handset tested for functionality.
How can I change my plan?
You can stop by the QU Mobile Office or contact Sprint customer care at 866-639-8354.
How can I cancel my service?
What happens if my new phone is defective when I receive it?
Call Sprint customer care at 866-639-8354 immediately. They will send you a new phone and ask that you return the non-functioning one.
When am I eligible for a free upgraded phone? How do I upgrade?
You will be eligible for a free upgrade after 12 months. Contact Sprint customer care at 866-639-8354 or stop by the QU Mobile Office to order your upgrade.
What if I lose my phone or it breaks? Do I have to pay anything to get a new one?
If you choose to purchase "Total Equipment Protection" when you ordered, you're covered! A Total Equipment Protect program is offered with every account.
What happens when I graduate?
The QU Mobile Program is administered by Quinnipiac University, and is offered to enrolled students. Upon graduation, you may keep you phone number and remain a Sprint customer. Call Sprint customer care at 866-639-8354 or stop by the QU Mobile Office for more details.
I plan on studying abroad - will I have to pay for my phone when I'm gone?
You can place your phone on seasonal suspension while you are away. There is a nominal monthly fee, and the months that you are on seasonal suspension will not count toward your one-year contract. NOTE: Seasonal suspension does not entirely disable the phone. You will be able to make calls while on seasonal suspension at a per minute cost.
