Student Health Services Staff

Student Health Services is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, while students are in residence, excluding summer term. A physician is available 32 hours a week.

The highest priority of the staff is meeting the health needs of students and providing ongoing health education opportunities as an integral part of the Quinnipiac experience.

All students need to submit, on forms provided by Quinnipiac, a complete history of immunization and the results of a pre-entrance physical examination. This examination must be administered by a qualified physician within one year before the start of classes. The forms serve as a basis for health counseling and for decisions about physical activities in which students can engage.

Health services are available only to students who complete the required forms and have proof of adequate immunization by the State of Connecticut Department of Health Services. Students who do not comply are not permitted to register, including pre-registration for the second semester.

• Health profile maintenance
• Allergy injections (by appointment only)
• Gynecology services (by appointment only)

Student Health Insurance is required...
Quinnipiac University along with the Chickering Group has developed a student health insurance plan especially for students. The plan, which is underwritten by Aetna Life Insurance Company, provides coverage for illnesses and injuries that occur on and off campus and includes special cost-saving features to keep the coverage as affordable as possible. All full-time undergraduate students are eligible. 

This is a hard waiver policy. A hard waiver program means that you MUST maintain major medical insurance coverage.  Students may waive health insurance coverage if the student presents evidence of other health insurance coverage under a plan that provides benefits equal to or greater than the Quinnipiac University Student Health Insurance Plan.  Students must document evidence of coverage and make an on-line waiver decision by the waiver deadline.  The waiver deadline is August 29, 2008. In addition to the waiver process, the Health Services Center at Quinnipiac will request your immunization and health information as a separate item for their files.
