As a member of the global marketing team at Estée Lauder, Meghan Tully '05 helped launch the company's newest fragrance, Missoni acqua. The eau de toilette is reminiscent of "just-watered flowers, succulent fruit and refreshing sea air," Tully said.

As a brand administrator based in the company's New York City office, Tully is following in the "fragrant footsteps" of her mother, Marie Tully, who spent years with Unilever.

Marie Tully's career took the family all over the world. Along the way, mom and daughter developed a taste for traditional high tea with its dainty sandwiches and scones. But there were no high tea offerings in the Westchester area where they lived. Tully thought about filling that void.

In her senior year at Quinnipiac, Tully went from tea connoisseur to tea entrepreneur when she wrote a plan for the annual business plan competition sponsored by the School of Business. She named her company Tully's Tea.

Her proposal took second place honors and won her $2,000. For now, she is letting her tea idea steep while she gleans all she can from "real world" marketing professionals. An entrepreneurship and small business management major, Tully says the skills she learned in class and in writing her plan have been especially helpful in her current position.

"I interact with the various departments including product and fragrance development, packaging, creative and new launch management to create and maintain the Missoni global marketing programs," she said.

Tully says she is thinking about pursuing a master's in fragrance marketing or starting up that high tea business. Right now, she is enjoying her "scent-sational" job.
