Spiritual and Community Service Groups

Volunteer to work on a food drive, build a house for someone in need and more. You’ll find plenty of opportunities to make a difference through one of our many community-service organizations. You can also share your faith with your peers through a variety of religious groups that meet on campus.

Faith-based Organizations:

Branches
Branches fosters fellowship among Catholic students, faculty and staff at Quinnipiac. Directed by a full-time chaplain assigned by the Archdiocese of Hartford, the group maintains full membership in the Regional and National Catholic Collegiate Associations. Worship, sacramental services and social activities are open to all members of the Quinnipiac community, regardless of religious affiliation.

Campus Crusade for Christ
Campus Crusade for Christ is an interdenominational group composed of students who share a common faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The group sponsors weekly meetings, small-group Bible studies and fun-filled weekend activities such as hikes, picnics, dinners, sports, conferences, retreats and community projects. All are welcome.

Hillel
Hillel is open to all students interested in taking part in social and religious events focusing on Jewish heritage. The organization, directed by a full-time rabbi, sponsors events such as trips to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., religious services, trips to New York theaters, holiday parties and Shabbat dinners and services. The organization also takes interest in involvement with other campuses in the area. Learn more about Hillel at Quinnipiac...

Community-Service Groups:

Alpha Phi Omega
This national coed service fraternity extends the principles of the Scout Oath and Law of the Boy Scouts of America to college life to develop leadership, promote friendship, provide service to humanity and further our national, educational and intellectual heritage.

Community Action Project
As members of CAP, students participate in community service on campus and in the greater New Haven area through group and individual projects—often with children and the elderly.

Habitat for Humanity
Fight homelessness by building and rehabilitating houses, raising awareness about the need for affordable housing and raising funds for ongoing initiatives. The group also sponsors alternative spring break trips to various locations within the United States.

Rotaract Club
As part of Rotary International, the Rotaract Club provides an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development to address the physical and social needs of their communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.

Roots and Shoots
Roots and Shoots serves as an international link to promote care and concern for animals, the environment and the human community. Through advocacy programs, Roots and Shoots will reach out to the Quinnipiac campus as well as the towns of Hamden and New Haven.

VITA
VITA exists to raise awareness regarding pro-life issues including, but not limited to, abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, embryonic stem cell research, and artificial conception. We will accomplish this through discussion, research, outside speakers, distribution of literature and community service.
