About Quinnipiac University
Since its founding in 1929, Quinnipiac University has emerged as a national leader in higher education. Quinnipiac offers more than 67 programs to 5,700 undergraduate and 2,000 graduate and law students though its School of Business, School of Communications, School of Health Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, School of Law and School of Education.
Outstanding Facilities in a Scenic Campus
Quinnipiac's Mount Carmel Campus, located in Hamden, Conn., is adjacent to Sleeping Giant Mountain and is among the most scenic in the nation. Nearby is the new York Hill Campus, home to the TD Bank Sports Center, a 185,000-square-foot facility with separate arenas for the University's Division I men's and women's ice hockey and basketball teams. A third 104-acre campus in nearby North Haven is being developed. A newly-renovated, 180,000-square-foot facility opened in Fall 2009. This building is home to the graduate and upper division professional programs in the School of Health Sciences. The School of Business and the School of Education also hold graduate-level classes there.
National Recognition
The University consistently ranks among the top universities with master's degree programs in the northern region in "U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Colleges." Quinnipiac's student-centered technology led PC Magazine and the Princeton Review to rate Quinnipiac among the nation's top 10 "most wired" campuses. The graduate physician assistant program is ranked 14 out of 141 programs nationally by U.S. News & World Report. The graduate pathologists' assistant program is the oldest and largest in the country.
Quinnipiac is also well known for the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, which regularly conducts surveys about political races, state and national elections and issues of public concern. The independent poll is frequently cited by journalists, public officials and researchers.
The University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. The School of Law is accredited by the American Bar Association.
