Commencement ceremonies for graduate, CPS and law students May 11; Webcast information

Commencement for Graduate Programs and the College of Professional Studies
The 2008 Commencement for Graduate Programs and the College of Professional Studies took place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, in front of the Arnold Bernhard Library, on the proscenium of the University Quadrangle.

The speaker was Carlton Highsmith, founder, president and chief executive officer of Specialized Packaging Group, Inc. of Hamden, Conn. Highsmith is a member of Quinnipiac's board of trustees, was Business New Haven's 2006 Businessperson of the Year and the U.S. Department of Commerce recognized his company as 2005 National Manufacturer of the Year.

School of Law Commencement
The 2008 Commencement for the School of Law was held on Sunday, May 11, at 3 p.m. in front of the Arnold Bernhard Library, on the proscenium of the University Quadrangle.

Connecticut Supreme Court Justice Barry R. Schaller addressed the graduates. He was appointed to the Connecticut trial bench in 1974. After serving for more than 18 years on the trial bench, he was appointed to the Appellate Court in 1992. Schaller was appointed to the Supreme Court in August 2007.
