Patrick Healy '66, senior vice president for finance and administration

Patrick Healy is responsible for financial management, facilities, security, and personnel and administrative services. He joined Quinnipiac in 1972 to be director of project accounting after serving as supervisory auditor for the U.S. General Accounting Office in Washington, D.C., where he earned a senatorial letter of commendation. Healy was appointed vice president for finance and administration in 1980.

Healy earned a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of New Haven. Healy received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Quinnipiac.

Mark Thompson, senior vice president for academic and student affairs

Mark Thompson was appointed senior vice president for academic and student affairs in July 2008 after serving as dean of the School of Business for five years. Prior to that, he served five years as associate dean, including three years as director of the MBA program.

Thompson holds a doctorate in economics from Georgia State University and a bachelor's degree in economics/finance from Bentley College.

Lynn Bushnell, vice president for public affairs

Lynn Bushnell has been vice president for public affairs since 1996 and has been with Quinnipiac since 1994. She oversees the Polling Institute, public relations, media relations, special events, publications, Quinnipiac’s Web site and commercial radio station AM 1220 WQUN.

Bushnell earned a master’s degree in New England studies from the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y.

Manuel Carreiro, vice president and dean of students

Manuel Carreiro has been vice president and dean of students since 1983. He oversees athletics, residential life, counseling, career services, the health center and the student center.

Carreiro received his doctorate in higher education administration and student personnel from Boston College and his master’s degree in literature from Indiana University in Bloomington. His bachelor’s degree is in languages and education from Southeastern Massachusetts University in Dartmouth.

Richard Ferguson, senior vice president for administration

Richard Ferguson joined Quinnipiac as vice president and chief information and technology officer in 1998 after serving as executive director of the Office of Information Technology at Boston University Medical Campus. He leads technology development to support academic programs and administrative activities, including the Arnold Bernhard Library, the registrar and QU Online, Quinnipiac’s distance learning program.

Ferguson has a doctorate and master’s degree in industrial administration and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, all from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Jean Husted, vice president/executive associate to the president

Jean Husted joined Quinnipiac in 1997 as executive associate to President John L. Lahey and has served since that time as a key member of the president's cabinet. She oversees all operations and special projects of the Office of the President. Husted earned a master’s degree in economics from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, an MBA from Quinnipiac and a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

Joan Isaac Mohr, vice president and dean of admissions

Joan Isaac Mohr became vice president and dean of admissions in 1993 after 20 years in admissions at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., leaving as assistant vice president for enrollment management and dean of admissions. Isaac Mohr is responsible for admissions and financial aid for undergraduate and graduate programs, excluding the School of Law.

She received her master’s degree in education from Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y., and her bachelor’s degree in history and education from Hofstra.

Donald Weinbach, vice president for development and alumni affairs

Donald Weinbach was appointed vice president for development and alumni affairs in 1996 after six years as executive director of development and alumni affairs at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. He oversees all fund raising and state and governmental affairs. Weinbach holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Merrimack College
