Over the years, a Quinnipiac University education has been an effective springboard to advanced study, compelling careers and lifelong success for some 29,000 living alumni. Located in Connecticut and around the world, these alumni are lawyers, teachers, television producers, nurses and more—leaders in their communities and professions, confident, capable and comfortable in a rapidly changing world.
Here’s what just some of our alumni are doing:
Eric Yutzy ’02, BA communications, is the sports anchor at WMGM, a television station in Atlantic City, N.J. He landed his first TV gig as a reporter for WKEF/WGRT in Dayton, Ohio, just months after graduating from Quinnipiac. After 10 months at WKEF, he beat out 450 applicants for the Atlantic City job, which he loves.
More recent grads...William C. Weldon ‘71, BA biology, is chairman of the board and CEO of Johnson & Johnson. Weldon also serves on Quinnipiac’s board of trustees.
More alumni in business…Beth Hirschfeld ‘96, BA biology, is a Hollywood, Fla.-based veterinarian who recently added six new initials after her name. Not only is she a DVM, but a CVA (certified veterinary acupuncturist) and a VMO, (veterinary medical officer) of VMAT3, one of four veterinary medical assistance teams in the nation.
More alumni in health care…Rachel Margolis ‘99, BA mass communications, is the director of communications for the Big East conference, where she directs communications for the women’s basketball championship and serves as primary contact for women’s basketball and men’s soccer. She previously served as assistant director of athletic communication at the University of Connecticut.
