Beth Hirschfeld '96, BA biology, is a Hollywood, Fla.-based veterinarian, who recently added six new initials after her name. Not only is she a DVM, but a CVA (certified veterinary acupuncturist) and a VMO, (veterinary medical officer) of VMAT3, one of four veterinary medical assistance teams in the nation.
Patrick Charmel '81, BS health administration, is CEO of Griffin Health Services Corporation, the parent organization of Griffin Hospital in Derby, Conn. Also the CEO of Planetree, Inc., a not-for-profit dedicated to humanize the hospital experience, Charmel is a member of the National Advisory Council for Healthcare Research and Quality.
Peggy Nygren '90, BA psychology, is one of 1,500 research scientists at Oregon Health and Science University, which provides care for more than 187,00 adults and children annually. She focuses on topics related to women and children and recently published a review on child abuse screening.
