Facilities

Quinnipiac University’s computer science and interactive digital design department has several dedicated labs on campus—making state-of-the-art equipment available to students for both course work and independent study.

The IDD program uses a lab of 17 student (and one instructor) dual-G5 (64-bit) Apple Macintosh workstations running OS X 10.4. This lab has software installed across the spectrum of design ranging from Photoshop to Maya. Support peripherals include networked color and black-and-white laser printers, as well as additional dedicated scanning and large-format color printing stations. The lab runs off a server complex of dual-G5 XServe machines and an XServe Disk Array with 1.4 TB of storage space for student home directories.

The computer science program has a dedicated space that serves as a development lab for students. This lab is designed to host up to four distinct internal networks for experimentation, and has stations with machines running Linux, Windows and OS X. In addition, this space serves as a lab for embedded systems and robotics development.
