The Department of Biological Sciences explores the scientific study of life in all its grandeur, complexity and mystery.
The curriculum for the BS in biology allows you to pursue one of three different track curricula based on individual preferences and expressed interests:
The specialized curriculum provides an excellent biological and physical science foundation for students who choose to end their formal education with the bachelor's degree, or for those students who intend to continue their studies in professional health care fields and doctoral programs.
The Department of Biological Sciences offers a combined BS/MS degree in biology and molecular and cell biology to qualified undergraduates. Students in the combined BS/MS program complete graduate-level biology courses during their senior year. Students complete the MS degree in molecular and cell biology in one additional year. The combined degree program offers a competitive edge for graduates who plan to pursue a career in the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical industries.
