Applicants to the graduate nursing program must be registered nurses and hold a baccalaureate degree in nursing or another field. An undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred. Applicants must submit the following to the Office of Graduate Admissions:
- Resume and personal essay
- A completed admissions application
- Official transcripts from all schools previously attended
- International applicants must submit an official copy of official recent results of the TOEFL examination
- Two letters of recommendation
- Proof of current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Connecticut
- Candidates for admission are invited to interview with the graduate nursing program director and/or member of the faculty in person (or by telephone, if distance is an issue)
- Criminal background check is required for forensic nurse clinical specialist track
Candidates applying for full-time admission for the Fall semester must submit a completed application by May 15. Candidates interested in part-time admission for the Fall semester should submit a completed application by July 30. Applications are also accepted for Spring semester with a suggested deadline of December 15. Candidates are accepted on a space-available basis.
