Pi Theta Epsilon is the national academic honor society for occupational therapy students who attend an accredited program.
PTE upholds high scholastic achievement and performs community service and ongoing research.
Qualifications for acceptance to PTE include a GPA of at least 3.5 and class rankings within the top 20 percent of the occupational therapy class and the top 35 percent of the University class.
Quinnipiac University PTE is a student-run, faculty-advised chapter that sponsors speakers, performs fund raising and promotes the visibility of OT in the community. Members network informally with other OT students and OT professionals.
Here’s how PTE got its name:
Pi is the first letter in the Greek word for advancement
Theta is the first letter in the Greek word for therapeutic
Epsilon is the first letter in the Greek word for occupation
Therefore, Pi Theta Epsilon stands for “advancement in occupational therapy.”
